Brother Tim

Brother Tim was born in Myanmar (Burma). His parents divorced when he was a child. In October 2010, by God’s grace, along with his cousin’s family, Tim, with his family came to Chicago, IL. Two years later, Tim attended the 2012 youth conference hosted by First Baptist Church and dedicated his life to Jesus Christ.
Brother Tim went to Bible College to learn to serve God. While there he served in the bus ministry and taught Sunday school. He loved the children very much and wanted them to know God. Brother Tim is passionate about the kids having a bright future. He graduated after 4 years from Bible College on May 4, 2018.
After moving to Indiana in July 2018, God led Tim to establish Overcomers Ministry. Overcomers Ministry is focused on young people and Burmese immigrants. We have more than 27,000 Burmese people living in Indianapolis, making it the largest Burmese community in the country. Burma is home to more than 135 different ethnic groups.

Many challenges arose, particularly transportation and space for children. After continuing in faith, God prepared an opportunity to rent an office. Teaching the kids in that office, the children and I constantly prayed to God that one day, if it’s His will, we would contact a large church and transport them not only with my personal vehicle but also with the bus. We were also praying for more volunteer teachers. God listened to our prayers.

Overcomers joined Greenwood Bible Baptist Church on September 11, 2021, and we are continuously expanding with the help of volunteer teachers, bus drivers, and others.
